The Esslingen racing team
The " Racing Team Esslingen" is the Formula Student Team of Esslingen University of Applied Sciences. The international team consists of over 50 students who design, test and produce a racing car every year to take part in the "Formula Student" competitions. The team is supported by well-known companies from the entire region and various faculties at Esslingen University of Applied Sciences.
The Formula Student
Formula Student is an international design competition for students. Every summer, these teams compete against other teams from all over the world in a Formula 1 atmosphere. Preparations for the new season start as early as October of the previous year.
Working as a team, the teams construct a single-seater formula car and compete against their international rivals in various disciplines. However, the overall winner is not necessarily the fastest car, but the best overall package of design, performance, expertise, financial planning and business plan. A jury of experts from the motorsport industry then evaluates the racing cars.
Every year, the task is to design an innovative racing car that is even lighter, faster and more aerodynamic than its predecessor. The racing team therefore always has the opportunity to call on support from a wide range of different areas of automotive development in order to drive forward the development of new, improved individual parts and components.
System solution by IPETRONIK
As a partner to the automotive industry, we are supporting the Formula Student team with our measurement technology, consisting of several thermocouple modules and our IPEmotion measurement data acquisition software. The focus of our hardware and software in this project is on the development and testing of the cooling system for the engine and performance electronics.
The racing team was represented together with us at the messweb masters in Böblingen, where the measurement technology from IPETRONIK was also handed over.
