IPEmotion Practical tip – Detect vs. Mapping / Synchronize

With the PlugIn interface technology, IPEmotion is providing a powerful and easy to use data acquisition tool. The hardware detection which scans all connected devices of activated PlugIns is a core feature.

Detecting hardware
The hardware detection (reading configuration data from the devices) is commonly used to create and recreate recurring measurement tasks. Using this procedure resets the current settings (display instruments, acquisition, storage, formulas) of the loaded PC configuration.

Synchronizing hardware
In order to reduce additional setup time caused by repeated hardware detections, we recommend to use the synchronization following to an initial hardware detection. This has the advantage, that the configuration will be updated with the new device settings, but without overwriting the complete IPEmotion configuration.

Mapping hardware
Another useful function is the mapping of connected devices. This feature is recommended, when devices have been added, exchanged or removed. The mapping procedure compares devices in the configuration with the connected hardware. Matchng devices will be assigned automatically, missmatches or new devices will handled on user command.
